Overview
The project required a hoist to lift parts to the Windmill Generator which is located over 328 ft. above the ground. The parts weighing up to 550 lbs. must be lifted to the generator quickly so that maintenance can be performed timely. It is extremely important to keep the energy flowing without interruption.

The load hook must also be provided in a way as to not damage the cladding of the tower.

Solution
To solve the problem, Stahl selected a standard ST10 electric chain hoist mounted to a push trolley with a single fall reeving. Parts are lifted the 328 feet at a speed of 98 fpm reducing the cycle time to about 7 minutes. A Slip clutch and hoisting limit are a few of the safety features of this hoist. Additionally the hook was supplied with impact protection.
