Handling steel coils is challenging when the operator would like high lifting speeds combined with safe load spotting. This coil processor needed both: heavy duty design and “smooth” high speed lifting. The Demag DR Pro Hoist provides the needed ruggedness and sensitive speed control from a standardized hoist to meet the duty requirements of steel coil handling and processing.

The DR Pro hoist also features stepless variable speed lifting, which allows the operator to vary the hoist speed between the very slow, precise spotting speed, normal running speed at full capacity, and maximum express speed (at ? capacity).

The term "stepless" means that the hoist can be operated anywhere between the fastest and slowest speeds in direct proportion to how far the stepless pushbutton on the operator control station is depressed. This feature is standard on cranes equipped with DR Pro hoists for all motions, hoisting, trolley and bridge travel.

The result is a very satisfied operator who is in total control of a large, heavy steel coil, providing maximum efficiency in handling, positioning, storing, and retrieving steel coils, while reducing the potential of handling damage. In addition the (H4) duty rating provides long lasting reliability and maximum up-time.
